Why I started framing...

My dad was born in Richmond, CA and grew up a San Francisco 49ers fan and passed this along to me since birth.  My dad and I built up a diverse yet modest collection of 49ers memorabilia over the years.  One year I was going through some of his things and came across some items from the 80s- magazines and newspapers and such.  I had a good idea that I wanted to mount one of these magazines of Joe Montana along with some Super Bowl pins that corresponded with Joe's years.  I went to a local craft/framing shop and asked how much it would cost.   Once they told me that it would cost $65 just to cut the mat board, I knew I had to figure out how to do this myself.  Years later, I am still at it...

Attention to detail...

My mom is quite the aesthetic perfectionist and I absorbed her eye for balance and attention to detail while growing up.

Once I started cutting mats, I noticed I really had a skill for it and my projects continued to get more complex.  I enjoy the entire process from start to finish and it has become a source of relaxation for me.
